Advania Chooses Qvarteret as Its New Headquarters
– Through a comprehensive renovation, Qvarteret will combine sustainability and quality in a way that sets a new standard for office buildings in Oslo city center. IT company Advania, the first and largest tenant, sees this as an investment in both the environment and people.
27. November 2024"We are extremely pleased that Advania has chosen Qvarteret as their new headquarters. Here, we have prioritized sustainability and quality. The building will achieve energy class A, one of the very few in the city center, and we emphasize environmentally friendly materials and the reuse of structural elements," says Gunnar Fredriksen, Project Director at Linstow and Managing Director of Qvarteret Holding.
Qvarteret is located in the upper part of Kvadraturen and is a combination of Akersgata 13-15 and Tollbugata 32. The building covers a total of 15,200 square meters, distributed over nine floors above ground and one floor below. The renovated building will offer flexible office solutions, social spaces, various food service concepts, and fitness facilities on the rooftop. Advania has signed a lease for over 6,000 square meters, with plans to move in early 2027.
"Advania has an ambitious sustainability strategy, where reuse and circularity are central. When looking for our future headquarters, it was crucial for us to collaborate with a developer who shares our environmental ambitions. With Qvarteret, we are staying ahead of future environmental requirements with reduced carbon emissions and a high degree of reuse. We want to be part of the solution," says Siv Hjellegjerde Martinsen, CEO of Advania Norway.
The developer of Qvarteret has made several conscious choices that set it apart from other office buildings in the city center.
"Parking has been removed to provide more space for quality areas for tenants. By relocating technical installations from the roof to the basement, the rooftop terrace is freed up for fitness facilities and social spaces. Additionally, we have chosen to establish a large communal area next to the building’s staff restaurant, which can be used for cultural events and client meetings for the building’s tenants and visitors," says Fredriksen.
Advania will bring together 550 employees from offices in Asker, Bryn, and Pilestredet in Oslo.
"At Advania, we focus on putting people, both employees and customers, at the center of everything we do. It’s important for us that this is reflected in our new headquarters. At Qvarteret, we get a future-proof building with spacious common areas, a rooftop terrace with exercise opportunities, and space to gather up to 800 people in the Grand Hall. Now, we are going to create a place we can be proud of, a place filled with warmth and knowledge," says Hjellegjerde Martinsen.
Qvarteret will contribute to revitalizing Kvadraturen to the benefit of Oslo and its residents. Through new open façades and attractive food service concepts, a new building floor for Oslo is created, making the area more accessible and vibrant for both residents and visitors.
Qvarteret is owned 60-40 by Linstow and Oslo Sentrum Holding through Qvarteret Holding. Linstow is the operational partner and responsible for the project execution.
AF Gruppen has been chosen as the contractor for the renovation.
